The Red Journal 1918-1929
Over the course of his life, Wilford kept notes in pocket journals and his financial accounts in various notebooks. Most of the time they were separate, but in the early days they were combined.
We know of 23 Journal/Account books. They roughly cover the years 1920 (when he was working for the Woods Livestock Company) through 1977.
The journals/records are missing from 1945 -1959. There are several possibilities. They may have been stored in one of the sheds which were destroyed by the flood. Wilford may have burned them himself. They may be with another family member. If anyone has a lead on the missing records, please drop me a line at kkhamblin@gmail.com. It would be great to find and scan them because they cover the time of the marriages of his daughters and the birth his older grandchildren.
The earliest of the journal/records is a small red pocket journal. I suspect this covered the years of WWI also because there are addresses for friends in Fort Leavenworth Kansas, California and Iowa. Not all pages are filled and many are not dated.
I scanned the ones which are unique from our point of view or deal with his family, etc.
